Product Review & Giveaway For Lovin Cookies 'n Cream Bakery!

I had the honor of tasting some homebaked goodies
from the Lovin Cookies 'N Cream Bakery-Etsy Shop!
The treats arrived yesterday and they didn't make it long enough
for a picture to be taken! They were such adorable
little treats I hated to eat them but we did anyway!

She sent me 3 products to sample:

1.chocolate rice crunchies candies
2.2 sugar cookies shaped like decorated ice cream
cones! (shown in the picture)

The items were well packaged inside a bubble mailer
which was thick and cushioned.
She carefully enclosed the piece of candy in it's own
decorative case with a black base and a clear top so
you could see how cute it was before devouring it. It
tasted really good lightly sweet, not overpowering with
just the right amount of rice krispies crunchy
goodness! I believe it was dark chocolate which I'm
not usually a big fan of (I like milk chocolate0, but
it was very tasty!

The ice cream cone shaped cookies were truly beautiful!
They both were decorated to the hilt! I'm talking colors and
sprinkles galore! The cone had the little crisscross
patterns and was just the right color of an ice cream
cone and the buttercream frosting piped on in all
different colors was extremely good eats!

It had orange and blue decorated toppings with sprinkles
all over the place. At first look you'd think this
was not something you could even eat! My son and I had
a blast eating these 2 cookies! They were nice and thick
about 1/2 I think each. The taste was very good for
the cookie base too, had a slight lemon and vanilla
taste I love. We could have ate a dozen of these
cookies that's how good they were!

I also loved the way she packaged the cookies! Once
you open up the envelope which came first class mail
you found a red gingham check paper wraping tied with
a pretty pink/green ribbon. Very cute! Also the cookies
were double wrapped in clear cellophane food quality
bags which I always appreciate.

If you are wanting to try out some new tasty sweets you
should check out her shop! The piece of chocolate candy
she sent was sugar free but it tasted so good you'd
never know it! I like that when there's no nasty after
taste to a sugar free product.



Lovin Cookies 'n Cream Bakery/Etsy shop
her Chocolates sell for $5.00 dozen and the pieces
are large probably 3-4" in diameter so she's not
skimpy. The cookies are designer quality cookies
each was about 6" in length and really looked
absolutely gorgeous. She said she can make all
cookies,candies in any shape,style you'd like as
she has hundreds of candy/cookie molds! So if
you have a special party coming up why not order
a box from her? Trust me, you'll be glad you did!

Product Review & Giveaway For SmartKnit KIDS Socks!


A couple of weeks ago I received a great sample pack from
a company called SmartKnit Kids! I had requestied
information about their diabetic socks line since as
my readers know I have a lot of trouble finding a pair
of comfortable socks because of foot swelling and pain
due to diabetic neuropathy. They are

scoks and they are not just for kids!


Well this pair of white diabetic socks they sent out
worked perfectly on my sore swollen feet! They don't
have any seams on them anywhere so they are nice
even stretch and fit all over. No annoying seams to
hurt your sore toes! I really have enjoyed wearing this
pair of socks around the house and out and about. I normally
can't keep a pair of socks on my feet for over a couple
of hours as the burning and soreness just worsens with
the constraint of the socks, but these didn't bother me.
I actually wore them a whole 6 hours one day with no problems.
I'll definitely be adding some of these to my
sock drawer soon. They have a variety of colors which
I love my bright colors.

YumNuts Naturals was graciously sent me a couple of sample packs upon my request! The nuts were super fresh, the most freshest nuts I've ever tasted! I thought I was with a street vendor like you see on television they were so fresh!

Specialty nuts, flavored nuts,plain nuts,cashews,peanuts.... they have a huge selection you really should go check them out! Try some fresh nuts for a change you'll never buy them at the supermarket again.



Sent for product review a sample pack of Cajun dry slow roasted cashews. I adore cashews but had never tried a flavored cashew! Well I was in for a treat! The light background flavor of the cajun spices comes thru perfectly as you eat these nuts. They are not hot & spicy they are just the right amount of seasonings to make you want some more of them! Light and fresh with a hint of spice. I'm glad someone thought of adding spices to nuts because I could get used to this!

The second package they sent was really "going all out" for me as it's;
Chocolate covered dry roast cashews! Wow I think this is my favorite new snack to have around the house all the time. You get the crunchy,salty taste of the cashews and the delicate aroma and taste of chocolate like candy all rolled into one bite! It really is a special combination! I'm not sharing this bag with the rest of the family,ha ha. They are not nut fans of any kind! Yeah, can you believe it? I wonder sometimes how those 2 could even possibly be mine and not like nuts of any kind!

They came in resealable bags which is nice so I can just nibble away at a few at a time and they'll stay fresh as can be. I alos love the fact that they are very crunchy nuts. Nice
and fresh and lightly salted with sea salt which I'd also never tasted but I extremely like. I love salt on nuts it gives it a whole new
dimension of flavor. So I guess chocolate is a good match to sprucc it up another whole notch, and it does! You really need to try both these varieties of nuts but I say at least go for the chocolate if you have to pick just one. I'm so glad they sent me the samples because I would have never tried these two new flavors if they hadn't!


they also have dozens of wonderful recipes on their website. In case you ever have
some extra nuts laying around. I saw some more flavors when I was looking
over their site that's I wish I could have tried!

Have you ever wished you could make your own chocolate candies? Well now you can! There is a company that actually makes these darling kits that allows you the fun of making your own chocolate candies! I requested a sample in order to do a product review for you and they sent me a chocolate kit!

It came very quickly and I've made it up now and they are just so adorably cute! This was really the most fun I've had in the kitchen in a long time. Kids would love to do this with you!

Here's what my kit included:

6 packs glee gum

chocolate kit:
certified organic cocoa butter
cocoa powder
powdered sugar
starter crystals
temperature indicator
paper candy liners/cups (so cute)
easy to read instructions!

Really, it was very easy I'm talking simple to make! Who knew you could make your own chocolate, have fun and have it taste better than any candy you've tried at the store before! I absolutely loved making up my pieces of chocolate candies! The kit made 12 larg pieces of candy and it is as easy as making a pan of fudge! You can even use the microwave if you'd like.

Now I know this was not a sugar free product since it had powdered sugar but I did very well with it. I only ate a piece a day so I wouldn't run my blood sugar up so I was proud of myself for that. You could easily swap out the powdered sugar for splenda if you throw it in the food processor and make your own sugar free chocolate candies.

This was very good so I want you to try it so you can come back here and tell me how yes it was easy, yes it did taste good! I'm legally blind so if I can do it, you can do it!

Are you hungry yet? Well you will be so get ready to go buy some tortilla
chips and have them shipped right to your door.

This last week I had the pleasure of trying out some more snack products
on the market. Their name alone is so catchy, I really like it. They are
called "Food Should Taste Good"! Isn't that the most clever name you've ever
heard of for a snack product? Genious, wish I'd thought of it.

Anyway, upon my request the folks over at Food Should Taste Good said
they would be happy to send me a free bag to try to see if I liked them
and write about them on my food blog. Well, I didn't have to wait long
they were here in like 2 days or less I think and I was so amazed at the
size of the box! It was at least 25" x25"! I eagerly opened it up to see
over 12 bags & mini small bags of their famous tortilla chips! Wow! What
a great company to send so many samples, one of every flavor they make!

I'm still going thru them trying each bag as my diabetic snacking times
permit. I'll post here on each flavor as I taste test it for you and I'll
keep adding to this post as I try the other new to me flavors. So stay
tuned for all the flavors you crave to be revealed.

You think I was surprised? You should have
seen my 2 boys when they got home from work! I've told them about my
food blog over the last 2 years but you know how your grown kids are,
they don't listen to you. They were simply astonished that mom had
got this bag of great muchies for free! Of course, they've been
doing their fair share of eating the chips and trying new flavors
too! I really felt a sense of accomplishment knowing I impressed my sons,
believe it's not easy to do once you hit 50!
Food Should Taste Good

Here's the list of the flavors they sent in my goodie box! Really it
should have been Christmas!

multigrain Super extra crunchy I love these! You can clearly taste the
sesame seeds used on them, it gives them an extra crunchy texture.

mini bags 1 oz to go packs snack size multigrain I like munching on these while I go
for my daily walks outside. If you're eating something that
taste good it makes you forget about the time a lot better!

cheddar This one is definitely my sons favorite I liked them too.

corn We had these with a Taco night meal in place of our usual brand
and we all 3 agreed these were much fresher, more crisp and held
up better in the salsa than our normal chips which are a name brand.

lime Surprisingly light flavor on the lime I could eat this I was surprised.


sweet potato This is one of my favorites! It's sweet & salty a combo I've
always been a fan of! Plus they are super healthy for you.

olive This bag is good,very good may be in my top three! Good
overall flavor with a hint of olive oil in them. Lots of
spices, a real winner!

the works Really surprising taste all the spices are well distributed.
I was totally amazed by this one too! Great for watching tv
with since all the flavor you'd want is right there on one
product!

chocolate Wow, these are a delightful surprise! My kids were too
chicken to try them but I gave it a go & I loved them! I'm
kind of glad they won't touch them that's more for mom! I'm
so evil, yes I know! It has a light fudgy chocolate coa
on each and every chip. Every bit makes you want another
bite they are really addictive! I did crumble these up over
my frozen yogurt too (company recommended on their site), love
it even more!

jalepeno My kids didn't like these they are the "hot & spicy" lovers.
They said they are not too hot, spice wise but they thought
they had a slight burned taste which they didn't care for. Oh
well not everyone can hit a homerun every time right?

blue corn The blue corn is really crisp and I love the color of these
chips! These taste great and would be nice for a colorful
plate for whatever meal you are having.

Some of those flavors really make you look and think about it
don't they? I mean, chocolate tortilla chips? Who would have
thought it possible in a million years?! Let me just say you could tell
these were shipped straight out from the factory because I've never had
such a fresh, crispy tasting tortilla chip in all my life! I love the
bite of salt you get in them too, they make you want to lick your lips
to make sure you get every ounce of it!

So the chips are really good, I've been opening them and tasting
and testing for the last week (really fun) I could do this all
the time!

I'll keep adding to this list as the new to me flavors
dwindle down. I like having extra snacks in the house because when
you're diabetic and you have to eat every 2 & 1/2 hours to keep your
blood sugar levels up by diet and exercise- it takes a lot of snacks!
This helps out the family budget bigtime if the kids aren't always
having to buy mom some more healthy snacks.

everyday life too. Now who couldn't use a little of that?

He speaks of living within your means something every family
struggles with but he can show you the steps to take to
make it work for you.

I highly recommend anyone that is even thinking of buying
a home in the future read this book! You'll learn things
you had no idea were even possible and you'll save a ton of
money.

This book is 300 pages and each one is chock full
of useful information. You are going to be ahead of
the mortgage game if you read this book.

This one is so cute! Cooking for little fingers is all about helping kids learn to cook with you in the kitchen. Isn't that so sweet? I'm glad I taught my kids in the kitchen when they were very small as now my oldest is doing most of the family meals around here! He's 31 and he's a great cook and it all started when he was about 2 working in their with me.

Avitae caffeinated water sounds like a simple name doesn't it? Well it's
anything but simple. It's a very nice thirst quencher to have around
the house. It gives your body that extra little lift you need sometimes
just to make it thru your workout or your busy day. Avitae is not an energy
drink but it does containe caffeine to give you a boost when you need it
most. Everyone should go to their website and watch the video they have it is so informative! It actually shows what 10 pounds of fat looks like which is what you get when you drink just one can of regular soda for one year=10 POUNDS!!

Before I was diabetic I drank 2 pepsi's everyday of my life for about 40 of my ears so I guess now I know why I am 50 pounds heavier than I need to be. My doctor also told me that my soda drinking lifetime habit was the reason I am a diabetic today!

Avitae Water

Avitae water is widely available right now, I know my kroger Stores here
in Indiana
carry it as I've seen it on display. I always thought it made me thristy
to look at it while I was passing by. They have a handy little tool on
their website called "Buy Me" and you just put your zipcode in and they'll
tell you exactly which stores you can find it in, it's super easy to use.

The NYC Department of Health made an outstanding video all about Avitae
water which I know you'll enjoy so go to their website and watch it!
Avitae water is a smart choice for man and women who cares about what
they are putting into their bodies everyday. We all need to drink water,
not just me because I'm diabetic-All of us-Yes that means you too! We are
a society of soda drinkers and we've got to make that change to a healthier
beverage product so why not Avitae? Sure I've sacrificed my beloved Pepsi's
and now drink Diet Pepsi but give a girl a break sometimes you just
have to reach for the healthier choice available to you-WATER!

Water is so good for us all it's a shame we do not drink the needed
amounts for our bodies. Doctors say drink 8 glasses of water a day.
I know I have a problem doing that myself but if I could have some
water like Avitae with a bit of caffeine in it to give me that boost,
it will in turn make me drink more water!

Yesterday it came in very handy as our pipes under the bathroom
have burst and we've had plumbers out digging thru
the concrete slab trying to find the leak and fix
the pipes! I was so glad to have Avitae water to drink!
It quenced my thirst and gave me that little lift I
needed. It's hard being without household water for 2
days and counting now! I hope today the 3rd day is
going to be the end of this disaster! So my Avitae
water couldn't have arrived at a better time!

I do a lot of walking now for maintaining my exercise so water has

The recipes with the highest number of votes will enter the Top 10 phase. The Grand Prize winner is then selected by both Pinnacle Foods Group and celebrity judges based on creativity, ease of preparation, and taste. The winner will be announced on August 3, 2010.

Product Review True Lemon,Orange and Lime Products







I was sent on my request a few samples of products from The True Lemon
company. I recieved true lemon, true lime and true orange flavors which
I had not been able to find in my stores here in Indianapolis. Yes we are
a slow town sometimes when it comes to getting new products in to try!

The true lemon I already knew I loved because I use it all the time to make
sugar free crystal light lemonade taste even better. It adds a touch of lemon
flavor like it's been fresh picked and squeezed right into the glass.
I've also now used it in baking and I must say those Lemom Mufins I made
with it were the best mufins I've ever made! They were sugar free made
with splenda and I added true lemon to them and it really made them Pop! in
your mouth. It was a refreshing treat.

So I thought since that worked out so well I might try it in some Orange
muffins the next week and I did and they were even better than the Lemom if
that's possible because they were pretty darn good. My whole family liked
the orange muffins so I'll be making these again soon.

The True Lime I'm not such a big fan of but I think that's just me. I just
don't like too many lime flavored products. I think it stems from a childhood
thing where I hated lime jello and it was the only kind school ever
served! So I'm sure this is a great product it's just not what I particularly
love. Maybe I'll sweeten it up a bit more and trick myself into tasting
it again.

With the True Lemon and the True Orange choices around that's all I'd need
anyway for all my recipes. Their website has a ton of recipes on it you

I'd like to thank the folks at True Lemom for sending me this generous
sample pack to try. I'm having a lot of fun trying them all out and I'm
not thru baking yet! I'll let you know on this post when I make
something else.
