Nutrisystem was
so nice and sent over some "cool" :) suggestions for
dieting this summer and I thought they really were for
everyone not just women on the Nutrisystem meal plan.
So here are:

Here's my take on these tips and suggestions;
The focus on today is a great one to use to keep you on
track. I know if I let myself sit and think about all of
the past day's what went wrong, what worked and what
didn't, I'd wind up wasting a lot of extra time and it
would be for nothing. Because if you did mess up you can
only start over fresh the next day there is no magic
wand to make the past disappear. So focus on today it's
a great piece of advice that will keep you grounded.
I do a lot better when I use the meal plans on the
example sheet on a regular basis. Sometimes you try to
create some meals of your own without using the plan and
I think it's easier to have extra calories "sneak" in on
you that way. That might be why I'm up a pound this week
myself. I did try to work a few extra goodies in here
and there and I should have stuck to the meal plan more.
Support is very important for everyone. We can't do it
alone and the Nutrisystem forums are a great place to
get some support. I also have found helpful suggestions
on my favorite message boards "Pitch it to me" which has
a category for Nutrisystem members on the plan. We can
post our weekly blog post links there if we want and
everyone can help support each other. Bloggers are a
wonderful support system to use for things like this.
Make it worthwhile or make every bite you take
meaningful to you. Yesterday I added in a great new
summer ripe watermelon bowl to my meal plan and I can
tell you that was the most rewarding snack for me I
savored every single bite of it. It's important to
include some of your favorite foods when they are in
season and taste especially great.
Drinking water is the #1 way to help you keep losing the
weight. I tell myself this every single day as for me it
is the hardest of the tips to actually do. I'm kind of
watered out I'm so sick of drinking it but it does help
with the summer heat keeping you hydrated so it's
important. I wish they had a healthy version of a diet
soda pop (cola flavored) that you could drink all day
long in place of water. Now that I could drink all day
with no problem at all! As a type 2 diabetic I have
learned along with Nutrisystem's help that drinking the
water is the only way to get rid of that horrible
chronic pain in your feet associated with diabetic
neuropathy. This week I've noticed in my log books I
only most days made it to 6 glasses a day & I need to
drink 8-9 glasses to keep everything in check. I'm still
in no pain but I did put back on a pound this week. So
that's my proof I NEED TO DRINK THE 9 Glasses of WATER
and so should you.
Avoiding temptaion is something I feel is easier said
than done. Yes we know it's a must to avoid temptaions
I'm just saying your other family members can make it
even harder on you to do this. I did resist the
temptaion yesterday when my kids had one of my favorite
meals "Breaded Tenderloin Sandwiches" it is Brickyard
500 time here in Indy today so those tenderloin
sandwiches are all over the place around here in hoosier
country. But, I did resist yay me!
Invigorating your workout is an easy step to do and
you'll feel so much better after your workout session is
over. I have been containing my walking to "inside" this
week because it's just too blasted hot outside. I'm
still wishing for a treadmill to come knocking on my
door to help me with this walking adventure. I think it
would give me more motivation to do the walks needed
everyday.
Taking time for yourself is so important as a person and
especially as a mom I know you all forget about taking
time for yourself. When my kids were young I did the
same thing. It never seemed to be the right time to make
any time for myself. Now as an older adult I can see how
I should have scheduled in that much needed time for
myself and I would highly recommend you just go for it
and do it. It's just as important as what the kids are
wanting to do. We need to value ourselves before anyone
else but I know we don't. So try harder this week and
make up your mind and take some time for yourself. I'm
positive you will feel better for it.
So there you have the ten helpful suggestions from
Nutrisystem that can make you stay on path and get your
weight under control like you really want to. Right now
