Hey gals listen up, If your'e looking
for a dvd to get your spouse,dad or boyfriend for Valentine's
Day that they'll actually like for a change, you won't go
wrong with this one - THE DOUBLE! It's out now on dvd and
blu-ray (which I highly recommend) so add to their priceless
collection of action movies today.
You know the old classic saying from
The Godfather,; "Keep your friends close and your
enemies closer." Well,
that rings true and should never be forgotten
by anyone because you never know when it might
come in handy. There's a clip for you to watch
called The Stakeout,
so you can see some of this fast paced action.
The Double with Richard Gere playing the lead
role in this action drama is great. Haven't seen
him around too much in movieland. His character is
yanked out of retirement from the C.I.A. to help
solve a Senator's murder. You know the
kind, a high profile keep it quiet hush hush kind
of case. Shepherdson, his character in the
movie spent about twenty
years of his in service life pursuing the
criminal wanted in these serial murders and
they call him Cassius. Soon you'll be smack
dab in the middle of this sneaky spy world
wondering who should you believe in.
This spy mystery feature lurches with bold
action and excitement at every turn lots of
hunter prey and who's the hunted scenes to
ponder over. Quite a few killings and
shootings which it always good for a great
action picture. There are quite a few
available twists in the plot so you'll need to
pay close attention to be on top of
everything. That's not hard to do since it has
so much rugged action going on all over the
place. You'll definitely be glued to your seat
for this one. There could even be a couple of
spots where you might wish you could have seen
that scene again to make sure your eyes saw
what your brain thinks it saw. I know it
sounds consusing but you'll see when you watch
it up close ane personal.
There will be several times when you won't be
quite sure who you are supposed to be trusting
in this movie. As you know when you are using
guns you should know exactly who you can trust
and who you can't. But that option is up for
grabs and you'll have to stick around for the
verdict to be in on this one.
Well written plots don't happen all of the time but
this one suceeded in doing it. I really enjoyed this car
chasing espionage. There are many hidden
secrets that slowly reveal during this movie
so pay close attention to that. Afterall, you
don't want to be left holding the bag all by
yourself do you? Make sure you are
comfortable in your chair because it's going
to be a wild night riding these streets of
corruption.
Richard Gere is the best thing going for this
movie so if you're a lifelong fan like me
you're all set. Enjoying a good movie is easy
when you like the old guys. Pair the old guy
with a young rookie cop and you've got a good
storyline. I like the chemistry between the
cast and how things play out. I do wish they
had not revealed something on the trailer that
would have made the movie much more enjoyable
not to have known this information. But, it is
what it is and nothing you can do about that
now.
Blu-ray is your best bet on The Double. It's
action packed and each scene is right on
target with great sound effects and lots of
background noises that let you know exactly
what's going on. It's always nicer to watch an
action flick on blu-ray format with a clearer
sharper picture and better overall sound
effects. HD, high definition is the wave of
the future baby so get it while you can. Oh
yeah, Stephen Moyer is really notorious as a
Russian spy killer. I hadn't seen him in
anything before but he was super evil in this.
The behind the scenes and the making of
featurette that comes with this disc is good
and sparks a few thoughts.
Be sure you have your popcorn, chips, chocolate goodies,
drinks and snacks all lined up on the couch with you when you
watch this movie because you are not going to want to miss
a minute of the action.
